Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Going outside, with distance, and getting fresh air is one of the few things we can do right now.

The Thread provides a great outlet and a safe outlet to give some escape to being cooped up in your home.

With almost 10 miles of The Thread completed, the walking trail offers enough space to follow social distancing guidelines.

In the middle of this pandemic, it can be easy to go a little stir-crazy and get stressed out. But going for a walk, a bike ride or a run right now can help.

Put your shoes on, walk outside and hit The Thread.

There’s multiple segments throughout the community that have been completed. So, no matter where you are in LaGrange, from Calumet Park to Granger Park, there’s a part of The Thread you can find an outdoor escape.

As spring weather sneaks its way into the community, the sun has come out and made it perfect for walking or running conditions.

The wide trail of The Thread makes it easy to avoid close contact with other people taking advantage of the outdoors and it also makes it great if you want to bring your child or someone else living in your home along for the walk.

You can even go for a walk with a friend — just stay six feet apart

Make a play list of songs that remind you of summer vacation or a play list of songs that make you happy.

Exercising is a great outlet right now to relieve the stress of all the uncertainty in the world.

We have even seen a few funny videos on social media, and Tik Tok, of teens joking about their moms asking to constantly take walks.

We don’t know for certain how long this is going to last — but we do know you can still go outside.

Take advantage of The Thread, and go for a walk.
