Jones eyes Troup County Probate Judge seat

LaGrange native Leslie Jones is running for Troup County Probate Judge.

Jones is a graduate of LaGrange High School and has moved back to Troup County to live after earning three degrees.

She has earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgia Southern University, a master of arts degree in teaching from LaGrange College and an educational specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University,

She is currently completing her Ph.D in educational leadership at Auburn University.

Jones worked as an intern with the Troup County State Court after graduating from Georgia Southern University. She has worked with children and families through her educational experiences, and senior estate/legacy planning through her work with Southern Life Insurance Group.

Her said her work with seniors gives her a unique perspective about how family’s estates, wills and beneficiary options affect all involved in the transactions. Her work ethic and knowledge have allowed her to have a full understanding of how final life decisions impact families and will use that knowledge if elected.

Jones said she enjoys working with the community and wants to continue to serve the community as probate judge.

The municipal election for Troup County is June 9.
