he governor recently announced that some businesses in Georgia will be allowed to open today. Whether you feel like Georgia is opening too soon, or not soon enough, it is happening. 

But it is each one of our jobs to still be smart and safe when we venture out into the community. 

Multiple nail salons, hair salons and more will reopen their doors, but they were given specific guidelines to follow by the governor. Be patient with business owners as they do their best to follow them, even if it means waiting in your car for 15 minutes before you can enter the salon. 

Proceed with caution when going out to patronize the local small businesses. 

The Center for Disease Control recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

As of lately, we have seen a lot of the community going out into town wearing masks and we hope you are one of them. If you feel like you can’t find any, take to social media. 

There are dozens of groups and people who are sewing masks every day to provide to those who need them. 

If you want to be extra safe and clean, go as far as wearing gloves but be aware of the possibility of cross contamination as well when wearing gloves.

Refrain from touching items unless you are going to buy them. 

If you feel sick, stay home. 

A lot of us may have cabin fever by now but just because you can go to some businesses now, it doesn’t mean you have to. 

If you do decide to go shop, get your nails or hair done, check out the business on social media to see if they have posted any guidelines of their own. 

It’s still our job to practice safe social distancing and slow the spread of the virus to others in our community. 

Also, don’t forget to wash your hands.
