James Cameron — 1938-2020

Mr. James Cameron passed away Friday.

He was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Troup County, Georgia to the late Mr. Otis “Buck” Cameron, Sr. and Mrs. Viola Atcherson Cameron.

He found great pleasure in worshiping with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was employed by Holiday Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Shondra Cameron; two sons:  Walter (Pastor Iris) Lovelace and Terrance Reed, all of LaGrange; three stepdaughters:  Daphen Bonner, LaTasha (Tony) Perkins, LaGrange; Jessie Mae Kelly, Huntsville, Alabama; one stepson, Albert (Kim) Delaney, LaGrange; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers: Joe (Shirley) Cameron, Ray (Peggy) Cameron, all of LaGrange; Roy (Eve) Cameron, Jacksonville, Floria; Johnnie Cameron, Franklin, GA; two sisters: Leona C. Webb and Viola (Robert) Ramey; LaGrange: two sisters-in-law, Carean (Ralph) Bankston, Decatur, Georgia; and Nadine Maddox (Jimmy Ferrell); two brothers-in-law, Carlos Spence and Thadeus Flournoy, both of LaGrange; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

The service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the cemetery of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 508 Horace King Street.

The excellent care of Mr. Cameron is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
