Virginia Mae Thompson, 80, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Thompson was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Aragon, daughter of the late Joseph Adrian Mathis and Mary Freeman Mathis.
She was employed with Milliken and Company, Duncan Stewart Plant, before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Baxter Gable.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Kenerley (Ronald Kenerley Jr.) of Hogansville; son, David Baxter of Cartersville; grandchildren, Ashley McCann (Tony McCann) of LaGrange, Jennifer Watts (Chase Watts) of Navarre, Florida, Taylor Kenerley (Danielle Kenerley) of Hogansville, Heather Moon (James Moon) of Hogansville; Lindsey Gable of Lanett, Alabama, Cecily Nelson (Jacob Nelson) of LaGrange, and Shawnna Baxter of Cedartown; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren;
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Andy Buchanan officiating.
