Like many school systems across the state, in mid-March Troup County School System closed its office buildings and schools.

However, according to a news release from the school system, they are preparing to welcome visitors on an appointment-only basis starting Monday, June 15.

The news release said visitors would be required to make an appointment, have a temperature check upon entering the building, and practice social distancing. It is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control that visitors wear masks.

TCSS maintenance and custodial staff continuously sanitize high traffic areas, offices, and meeting room spaces.

“We are currently accepting in-person visitors by appointment only and will continue these procedures for the foreseeable future,” TCSS Chief Human Resources Officer Chip Medders said. “Specifically, the Office of Student Assignment will be scheduling appointments for new student enrollment, zone transfers and student assignment appeals. The Pre-K Office and Human Resources are accepting appointments on an individual basis for onboarding and new student enrollment.”
