The LaGrange Municipal Court will be closed until further notice, according to a news release from the city of LaGrange.
All court cases will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience, and if a person had a case that was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, it will be rescheduled for a later date.
LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton said the entire municipal court probation and clerk staff is in quarantine. Thornton said there are a total of 12 city employees who are at home due to COVID-19.
“Eight have tested positive. Four are quarantined,” he said Wednesday. “That’s three sanitation workers, two firefighters, one in our technology, office and six people in our municipal court.”
Court rescheduling dates will be mailed to the last known address on the ticket. If a person’s address has changed since the time they have received a traffic citation or other court proceedings, they are asked to call the court to give them the new mailing address.
For any questions, residents are asked to call Alton West at (706) 883-2021.
