Dave “PaPa” Lyons, 86, of LaGrange, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at West Georgia Hospice.

 Mr. Lyons was born May 28, 1934, in Harvey, Illinois, to the late Edward Lyons and Mildred Yetiva Hall Lyons. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and retired from Trackmobile as Vice President of Regional Sales.

 Mr. Lyons proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, was a member of the VFW. 

After retirement, Mr. Lyons dedicated his time and efforts to the care of Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He drove the DAV van and continued to coordinate, after his own health began to decline. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Gramma” Lyons; his brothers, Allen Lyons and Ron Lyons.

 Survivors include his daughter, Lorrie Karpik; sons, David (Wendy) Lyons and Jim (Tracy) Lyons; grandchildren, Jodi (Jeremy) Vaughn, Jeff (Whitney) Karpik, Chad Lyons (Erika Atkinson), Drew Lyons, Meagan Lyons, Katie Lyons, Matt Lyons and Abby Lyons; great grandchildren, Kirstin Vaughn, Sophie Vaughn, Adaly Lyons, Izzy Vaughn, Lorali Daniel, Greyson Lyons, Burkley Karpik, Aria Daniel, Haisley Lyons and Harrison Lyons; several other relatives and friends.

 A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Jim Lyons officiating.

 The family will receive friends starting at 1 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Dave “PaPa” Lyons.
