Four people were killed and one injured in a car accident at the intersection of Towns Road and Greenville Road in LaGrange on July 1, Georgia State Patrol confirmed.

According to GSP, who are investigating the incident, the vehicle was travelling south on Towns Road when it crashed. The vehicle overturned and caught fire. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted to a hospital, and the four other passengers died.

GSP arrived on the scene around 11:45 p.m. The case has been turned over to GSP’s special recovery team. No other vehicles were involved, GSP said.

The three identified who were killed are:

Trevion Dean, age 20

Jacarri Chapman, age 20

Demetrius Dean, age 20

The driver who survived is Jason Slaton, age 20 of LaGrange
