Troup County announced Tuesday afternoon that it  has mandated the use of protective face coverings for all visitors at the Troup County Government Center, effective Wednesday.

According to a press release  from the county, the decision was made due to the recent increase in Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) cases in Troup County and in order to help ensure the health and wellness of the public and its employees.

Anyone who must visit for permitted in-person services will be required to wear face masks and practice social distancing while inside the building.

In addition, all visitors who enter the building will continue to be screened immediately by county personnel to include being asked to answer health-related questions as recommended by local health agencies and to provide a temperature check. All visitors will be subject to denial of entry based on responses to the questions and/or temperature.

The county strongly encourages the public to please stay home if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, as well as to call ahead of time before arrival.
