Filter Tech Inc. officially opened a store front in Hogansville Saturday morning.

“We are a water filtration business that provides filters for a whole house and for drinking water,” Filter Tech owner and President Jay Hanlon said. “October will be 10 years that we will be in business. We’re just in a new location here in Hogansville.”

Filter Tech works closely with installers/dealers located through the Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and north Florida areas.

Hanlon is a certified water specialist, certified installer and has reverse osmosis/ultrafiltration certifications from the Water Quality Association.

“We are super excited to be here for the local community and the surrounding community,” Hanlon said. “I have a huge business on the wholesale side of the business, where I work with plumbing companies and well drillers. I train them personally to provide the same services to the reader.”

Before Hogansville, the company was based out of Peachtree City.

“We bought a house right across the street and then started looking for a spot in town to move the business into,” Hanlon said. “It took us about six weeks to find this place, and we put a lot of hard work into to fix it and make it the way we want it.”

Hanlon said the new location is about 1,200 square feet larger than its previous space.

“It gives me the opportunity to have a training room and a quality control room,” Hanlon said.

When Hanlon was looking for a new location to move his business, he had the vision of bringing it to a small town like Hogansville.

“Me and my wife are high school sweethearts and are from a small town,” Hanlon said. “We know a lot of people through our daughter. We are excited to hopefully help be a part of the rejuvenation of the city and bring in some other businesses.”

The office space is being co-operated with his daughter, who owns Main Street Photography.

“The front part of the office space is all my daughter’s idea,” Hanlon said. “We have a showroom that shows one of our most popular drinking water systems that fits underneath the sink. We also offer a whole house system that will have set up here in the showroom to give people a visual of what it looks like.”

Filter Tech is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on the weekends. It is located at 404 East Main street and can be reached at (770) 487-1066 or filtertechinc@gmail.com. For more information about services offered, visit www.filtertechinc.com/.
