Dorothy Ellen Gibbons-Standard, of LaGrange, passed away on July 18, 2020.  She was born in Hardensburg, Kentucky, on Oct. 23, 1934, to the late John and Beulah Vance.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Standard is preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Vance, Joseph Vance, Leonard Vance and Dexter Vance; her sisters, Betty James and Margret Hill (Dale).

Mrs. Standard is survived by her husband, Robert H. Standard Jr.; her sons, John Timothy Gibbons (Jennifer) and Joseph Berry Gibbons (Deborah); her daughter, Jennifer Marie Gibbons; her brothers, George Vance (Shirley), Harold Vance (Patricia), Jerry Vance (Patricia), and Scott Vance (Linda); her sister-in-law; Bobbie Vance; her grandchildren, Timothy Cannady (Anna), Katherine Malkevicious (Marius), Jessica Burton (Josh), Melissa Hill (Brandon), Michael Austin Cannady, Danielle Cannady, Joseph Gibbons (Nancy), and April Cepeda (Anthony); her seven great grandchildren who she loved very much.

The family will hold a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Dorothy Ellen Gibbons-Standard at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11 a.m.  

The graveside committal service will be held at Horsley Chapel, 4221 KY-1385, Hardinsburg, Kentucky 40143, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11 a.m.
