1943-2020

Mr. Lipham was born Oct. 19, 1943 ,at Paris Island, South Carolina. He had lived most of his life in LaGrange. He was the son of W. P. Lipham and Fannie Jo Lipham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Cathy Mullis Lipham, his son Shannon and his wife Jennifer, daughter Amy Lipham Rhodes and her husband Jeffrey, granddaughters Isabella and Abbey.

Mr. Lipham graduated from Troup High School in 1961, and from Livingston University in Alabama in 1967, with a bachelor’s degree in education. His teaching and football coaching career consisted of assignments with Manchester High School, Baldwin High, Head Football Coach at Monticello High and teacher and assistant football coach at Callaway High School where he retired in 2005. 

He also worked as the Samples Department Manager at Live Oak Plant for Milliken and a manufacturing department Manager at Duracell. 

He enjoyed working as a team with his wife Cathy doing golf scoreboards for the Georgia State Golf Association and for college competitions throughout the state of Georgia in their retirement.

Private family services will be held for Mr. Lipham.

Coach Lipham requested that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Point University Men’s and Women’s Golf Program.
