Juanita “Nita” Creed Thomas, 66, of LaGrange, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020.

She was born in Scottsboro, Alabama, on Oct. 14, 1953, to the late Larkin Creed and Doris Creed Gann. Mrs. Thomas was a Peace Corps volunteer before she began working for the City of LaGrange. She retried after working 15 years with the Troup County Sheriffs Office and 15 years with the LaGrange Police Department. After her retirement, she worked as a para pro at Callaway Elementary School.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Thomas.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Brian Woody and his wife, April; grandchild, Jeffrey “Brent” Woody; great grandchild, Annie Wilson Woody; extended family and friends. Please keep the family in your prayers at this time.
