Michael Julian “Mike” Dobbs

1948-2020

Mr. Michael Julian “Mike” Dobbs, 72, of LaGrange, passed away on Aug. 10, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Dobbs was born on July 22, 1948, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Julian Dobbs and Martha Johnson Dobbs. He worked for Troup County for over 42 years with the last portion of his career serving as county manager. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ellen Wood Dobbs; mother in law, Inez Colbert (John); brothers in law, Randall Wood (Faye) and Gary Wood (Joyce); niece and nephews, Scarlet Wood Riley (Robert), Barron Wood (Britt) and Zane Wood; great nieces and nephews, Hudson Wood, Reeves Wood, Jack Riley, Charlie Riley and Alora Winecoff; special friends, Teddy and Sue Brown.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Shadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. John Beyers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Stephen Stiller Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.tunnel2towers.org, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or LaGrange First United Methodist Church at www.lagrangefumc.org.
