The Three Rivers Agency on Aging and Dependable, Affordable Sustainable Housing (DASH) teamed up for their second annual senior’s Farmer’s Market at Dunson Senior Community on Thursday. A total of 32 seniors — 21 from the Richard Wolfe Dunson Senior Apartments and 11 from elsewhere in the LaGrange area — were given $25 vouchers for fresh fruit and vegetables.

This year’s event was held only at Dunson due to the pandemic, though other seniors could come and pick up their food. The vouchers seniors receive are exchanged for a bag of fresh food.

“We really enjoy the farmer’s market,” said Gina Snider DASH, marketing and community outreach manager. “This gives low-income seniors a chance to enjoy fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, which is vital to their health. It is so important to have partnerships like these to collaborate on great events for our seniors in the community.”
