Daniel Rowe Sparks, Sr., 78, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Sparks was born August 22, 1942 in Forest, Mississippi to the late Leon “Bill” Sparks and Janice Mattilda Rowe Sparks.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. Mr. Sparks was a member of the Southbound Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club and former Owner and Operator of the Miter Shop.

He was a man of “Wit,” always stayed busy with his woodworking, camping or anything else that needed to be addressed at the moment.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.  Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Priscilla Meares Sparks; son, Dan Sparks and his wife Sun; daughter, Jann Dawe; grandchildren, David Sparks, Spencer Sparks, and Abby Dawe; several other relatives and friends.

The gathering of family and friends will begin Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. in the Striffler-Hamby Chapel with Pastor Cade Farris officiating.
