The Troup Lady Tigers are streaking along.

With Wednesday’s 13-4 home win over Woodward Academy, Troup (5-4) has won three consecutive games.

Trailing 4-0, Troup got within one with three runs in the fourth inning, and it took the lead with six runs in the bottom of the fifth before ending the game with four runs in the sixth.

Before the game, Troup seniors Hadleigh Livingston, Emilee Johnson and Emelie Reed were recognized, and they were able to celebrate a big home win.

“They played great today,” said Troup head coach Ryan Simpson. “I’m so proud of them, especially doing this on senior night. I’m proud of the seniors.”

Livingston, Troup’s outstanding shortstop, had a double and three RBIs, and Johnson had two hits with two runs scored.

Jennifer Albertson had two hits for Troup, Catherine Smalley and Maggie McDonald each had a hit and an RBI, and Haley Cotton had an RBI.

Makayla Giles was Troup’s starting pitcher, and she was relieved by Smalley with two outs in the first inning. Smalley, a freshman, went the rest of the way and did an outstanding job, holding Woodward Academy to one run on three hits in 5 1/3 innings.
