LaGrange stays perfect in region

LaGrange High’s softball team remained unbeaten in Region 2-AAAA with a 19-0 home win over Carver on Thursday afternoon.

LaGrange (8-4 overall) improved to 3-0 while playing its third game in three days.

LaGrange started quickly with nine runs in the first inning, and it added 10 more runs in the second inning, and the game ended when Carver didn’t score in the top of the third inning.

Leadoff hitter Abby Vanhoose had a double and three RBIs, and she also walked once and scored two runs.

Malone Aldridge also had a double with two RBIs, and she walked twice and scored three runs.

Madison Dennis had a double and two RBIs with a walk and three runs scored, and Mariana Ceja had a hit and two RBIs with two runs scored.

Mary Jane Stogner had a hit and an RBI, and she walked twice and scored two runs, Kaylee Bryant had a hit, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, Holly Lynn had a hit, a walk and an RBI, Kirsten Williams had an RBI while walking twice and scoring two runs, and Jacee Marable walked and scored a run.

Stogner pitched a three-inning no-hitter for LaGrange while striking out four.

LaGrange has a non-region game at Northside-Columbus on Wednesday.
