Alphonza Booker Grier

1954-2020

Mr. Alphonza Booker Grier passed away Wednesday.

He was born Jan. 23, 1954, to the late John and Zadie Grier.

He was employed with Elm City Mill for several years and then later, he became a truck driver.

 Survivors include four children: Antonio (Keisha) Newton and Lakesha Newton, Booker (Dominique) Grier, Jr., all of LaGrange; and Xavier Grier, Greenville, Georgia; four grandchildren; four sisters:  Doris Ann Anderson, Thelma Grier, Newson Cox, Corona, Georgia; Bernice Grier (Phillip) Johnson, Helen Delories Grier, both of Chicago, Illinois; and two brothers:  Johnny Cleveland (Joann) Grier, LaGrange; Bobby Neal Grier, Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and a loyal friend of fifty plus years, Rev. Charlie (Janice) Barsh.

The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grier Cemetery.

The excellent care of Mr. Grier is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
