No fans for Callaway game

The stands will be empty for Callaway’s football game this week.

Callaway, which improved to 2-0 with last week’s 17-6 win over Hardaway, will continue its season with a game at Douglass-Atlanta (Lakewood Stadium) on Friday at 8 p.m.

Anyone hoping to travel to Atlanta to watch the game will be unable to do so, though.

Because of a decision by the Atlanta school system, all home games involving football teams in the city will have zero fans, and bands and cheerleaders will not be allowed either.

Callaway beat Douglass-Atlanta in the third round of the Class AA state playoffs last year to reach the state semifinals for the second year in a row and for the fourth time since 2013.
