LaGrange is expected to have scattered thunderstorms throughout the weekend, but despite weather uncertainty, multiple events are expected to go on as planned.

On Friday, locals can join Troup County Historical Society Docent and Southern Spirit Guide Lewis Powell, for a ghostly tour of downtown LaGrange to hear about the history of Troup County and those who call it home. Tours will depart from the Legacy Museum on Main Street at 7 p.m., rain or shine, and move through the downtown area.

First thing Saturday morning, Helping Young Professionals Engage (HYPE) is hosting its fifth Bark in the Park Oct. 24 at Granger Park.

The event consists of a 5k race, followed by a dog-friendly walk. Registration for the 5k starts at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 7:30 a.m. Registration for the dog walk starts at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9 a.m. on The Thread.

Registration fees are $30 for adults under the age of 65 until Friday and $35 on Saturday. For seniors and people under 18, the fees are $20 until Friday and $25 on Saturday.

People who register can participate in the 5k, the dog walk or both.

Runners can also run their dogs during the 5k, if they want. A photographer and a photo booth will be on site for people to get free photos with their dogs.

Dog owners are encouraged to dress their dogs up for the event.

Also on Saturday, Garden Solutions in LaGrange is hosting a free walkthrough of its nursery with Helen Phillips. Phillips is a graduate of the Auburn University School of Horticulture and will be available to answer questions and give advice on what to do in gardens this fall. Attendees will also receive 10 percent off of their total purchase.
