Kathy Ann Kaap, 64, of Fletcher, North Carolina, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 at Universal Healthcare of Fletcher, Fletcher, North Carolina.

Kathy was born in LaGrange, Georgia, daughter of Beverly L. Kaap and the late Gilbert T. Kaap.  She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange and worked in the LaGrange School System for 22 years.  Kathy is a former member of the LaGrange Cotillion Club.

Kathy graduated from Harrison Chilhowee Academy in Seymour, Tennessee.  She is the current President of the Hendersonville, North Carolina HOPE Aktion Club and has been an active member for many years.

Kathy was a Special Olympics participant for many years and she carried the Paralympic torch on horseback on the Warm Springs leg of the 1996 Atlanta Paralympic Games.

She is survived by her mother, Beverly L. Kaap of Hendersonville, North Carolina; sister, Susan Huranna (Eric) of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; nephew, Eric Huranna, Jr. of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; aunt and uncle, Dr. and Mrs. Morgan Lloyd of Santa Barbara, California; and numerous cousins.
