LaGrange Toyota Classic returning

The LaGrange Toyota Classic, a fixture on the post-Christmas scene for years, will return next week, with 10 teams participating in the three-day event.

The LaGrange Grangers will serve as the host team, and the games will be played in the school’s new gymnasium that opened its doors earlier this year.

LaGrange will play three games, beginning with a showdown against Starr’s Mill on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

LaGrange plays Washington on Tuesday at 8 p.m., and it finishes with a game against

LaGrange (3-3 overall) is looking to add to its two-game winning streak.

After losing to Villa Rica in the opening game of the SMI Christmas Classic, LaGrange bounced back to beat Heard County and Temple and finish with a winning record in the tournament.

In Monday’s tournament finale, LaGrange overcame a three-point deficit in overtime to beat Temple 62-61.

Javon Brown led the Grangers with 26 points, and Kobe Jones added 12 points.
