Mrs. Betty Jean Scott, of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 25, 2021 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

Mrs. Scott was born to James Foster Prince and Elizabeth Scott Prince in LaGrange, Georgia on April 23, 1937.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Scott; sisters, Lura Wilson, Lavelle Parker, Alice Ann Thompson; brother, Floyd Prince; grandchild, Alex Hernandez. Mrs. Scott is survived by a daughter, Traci Ortiz of Texas; sister, Ruth Maharry; grandchildren, Trey Murray, Kayla Murray, Jasmine Murray; great grandchildren, Lyla Mae Walden, Travis Walden, Jr., Thalia Miranda (all of Texas).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Minister Don Jackson and Minister Larry Thompson officiating.  Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. 

Family will greet friend thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.  The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/higginslagrangechapel
