Mr. John Henry Gilbert passed away Friday.

He was born Sept. 27, 1945, to the late Mr. Essie B. Gilbert and Mrs. Mattie Eunice Gilbert in Troup County, Georgia.

He united with the St. Paul C. M. E. Church at an early age.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Nellon Gilbert; his daughter, Annie (Shawn) Jackson; two grandchildren; his extended family:  Leavelle Norwood, Sherika (Marcus) Thomas, Cathy Menandez, Amos (Mae) Clark, Willie (Pam) Clark, and their children; his brothers:  Rev. Tommy (Gaynell) Gilbert, Eddie B. Reed, Rev. C. F. Reed, Willie (Judy) Reed, and James Reed; his sisters:  Mary (Anthony) Cunningham, Betty Shavers, Mattie Reed, Ollie Gilbert, Gail (Nathaniel) Tatum, and Christine Gilbert; brother-in-law, Arthur Sellars; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; and special friends.

The service will be Thursday at 1 p. m. at Southview Cemetery.  The excellent care of Mr. Gilbert is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
