When LaGrange local Lindsey Robinson was a child, she faced major migraines, but a chiropractor helped change her whole world.

Now, she’s doing the same for LaGrange and the surrounding community with her new practice, The Local Chiropractic.

“I had such bad migraines that it was keeping me from normal kids stuff like dance and softball,” Robinson said. “I was in so much pain that I wasn’t able to do those things. My parents tried everything that they could think of. We went to every single type of doctor and tried so many things. We had exhausted our options, and then I finally went to a chiropractor and got the relief I needed.”

It wasn’t until college that Robinson realized she wanted to be a chiropractor.

“I started off as an education major at LaGrange College because my whole family is in education,” Robinson said. “I quickly realized that wasn’t my passion and so I switched my major to exercise science.”

Robinson graduated from LaGrange College in 2015 and headed off to chiropractic school at Life University in Marietta.

After graduating in 2019, she began working locally as an associate chiropractor. She’s recently branched off and now has her own practice at the age of 27.

“This has been my dream from day one to own my own practice,” Robinson said. “I’ve always wanted to own my own business and give back to my community.”

Robinson’s opening day began Monday morning, and she hoped to see at least 10 patients. Robinson had seen almost 30 patients by the end of the day Monday.

“I have been wanting to dream big but also be realistic at the same time,” Robinson said. “It’s been seriously overwhelming how supportive everybody’s been. I would check the schedule and I’d would just say, ‘oh my gosh.’ All these people are just being supportive, and I think that that is something that you don’t get everywhere but that is LaGrange. The community is just amazing.”

Robinson said she reached out to a colleague who had recently opened their own practice in Boston for advice.

“We were talking, and she had asked me where I was getting all these patients and I told her that was LaGrange for you,” Robinson said. “The people here really do rally and support you and the local businesses.”

Amongst the many services she offers, Robinson finds pre-natal care as one of her favorites.

“I love my pregnant patients and truly love serving them,” Robinson said. “I also offer a comprehensive exam, review of findings, chiropractic adjustment and any necessary physiotherapy.”

Additionally, she offers supplemental physiotherapies to be recommended by a doctor as needed including therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, intersegmental traction, cervical and lumbar decompression.

“I offer a unique experience because I always try to like truly analyze the person,” Robinson said. “They tell me where their pain is, but I try not to just look at the spot that they talk about. try to relate their pain and make sure that they know what’s causing it. If somebody comes in here and they have low back pain, we’re not just looking at the lower back. We always treat the full body.”

Robinson says every patient gets a unique experience because no one patient has the same problem or needs.

“Everyone has a tailored experience,” Robinson said.

Going forward, Robinson is excited for her future and her new practice.

“I just am so thrilled to see everyone and serve my patients,” Robinson said. “I get to show everyone what I have built and my family has worked tirelessly to help me to this point. It has been a lot of late nights getting the building and everything in order for opening day. “
