Anne Amos Burdette died March 20, 2021, in her home surrounded by family at the age of 97.
Mrs. Burdette was born Anne Amos in 1923 in LaGrange, Georgia, to parents James Curtis and Blanche McBride Amos. She graduated from Auburn University in 1946 with a BS degree in Home Economics (Management). Anne was a member of the Delta Delta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. In 1947, she married Thomas C. Burdette and worked with him to build a manufacturing business in Spartanburg, South Carolina. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Lexington, South Carolina. Anne was a member of Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church where she participated in the Lydia Circle.
Anne was an avid college sports fan and enjoyed any victory Auburn had over the local South Carolina schools. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and playing golf. Other hobbies include playing bridge with friends every Friday at the Seven Oaks Recreation Center and reading.
She is survived by her two children, Barbara Sullivan of Lexington and Clay Burdette of Alpharetta, Georgia, 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Mr. Burdette, died in 2002.
