Imogene Barker West, 96, of Sycamore passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at Maple Court in Tifton.

Imogene was born on Oct. 21, 1924, in Winder, Georgia to the late Claude Young and Hattie Crowe Barker. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She loved cooking and spending time outside.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie W. (Ed) Phelps of LaGrange; sons, John B. (Mary) West of LaGrange and Jerry Y. (Judy) West of Tifton; grandchildren, Tammy Barton, John C. West, Daniel (Julie) West, Rachel (Jason) Hubbard, Rebekah (Caleb) Ludecke, Melissa Moore and Lee (Leisha) Phelps; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Tyson, Caleb Tyson, Gus Barton, Anna West, Anderson Moore, Amelia Klaire Moore, Halle Phelps, Molly Phelps and Brooks Phelps; great-great-grandchildren, Evan Kusiak and Oliver Kusiak.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bolden West, Sr. and her siblings, Robert Barker, Kelly Barker, Bill Barker, Sue Rose and Mary Dean Eller.

A private, family-only service will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church with a public committal service to be held immediately in Bethel Cemetery.
