Man arrested for November murder on McGregor Street

A man wanted for a November murder in LaGrange was arrested Thursday in Winder, according to a LaGrange Police Department press release.

Nikita Orlando Shells, also known as Tim Shells, was located at 97 Lilly Drive in Winder, Georgia and taken into custody by the United States Marshall’s Office and the Winder Police Department, according to a LPD press release. Shells has been charged with offenses of felony murder, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Shells was wanted for the murder of Derek Davis, 26, of LaGrange on Nov. 29, 2020. Shells was shot at 208 McGregor Street. According to a previous LPD press release, three unknown suspects emerged from a wooded area and opened fire on Davis and Quindarrius Gray. Gray was not injured.

Davis was admitted to Columbus Medical Center in critical condition and the LPD was informed on Dec. 4 that he had died from his injures.
