Cougars stay hot with home win

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars continued to roll along with a 14-9 home win over Peachtree Academy on Tuesday.

Nathan Karvelas and Braden Firth each hit home runs as the Cougars won for the 12th time in 13 games to improve to 16-3.

Karvelas finished with two hits and four RBIs, and Firth had a home run and two RBIs.

Cason Firth had three hits with a double and a triple while driving in one run, and Adam Barnett had three hits and two RBIs.

Jacob Karvelas had three hits and three runs scored, Brock Tumlin had two RBIs, and Tanner Jackson had a hit.

Nathan Karvelas started and pitched three innings, and Jacob Karvelas entered the game in relief and threw two scoreless innings.

Tanner Jackson pitched the final two innings.

MONDAY’S GAME

LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN 8, HARVESTER CHRISTIAN 2 

The Cougars were clinging to a 2-0 lead when they exploded for four runs in the fifth inning, and they added two more runs in the top of the sixth.

Harvester Christian, trailing 2-0, scored its only runs in the sixth inning.

Cason Firth had two hits and two RBIs for the Cougars, and Landon Bush had a base hit and three RBIs.

Jacob Karvelas had two hits with a triple while scoring three runs, and Tanner Jackson had two hits with a double.

Nathan Karvelas had a hit and an RBI, Adam Barnett had a hit and a walk, and Brock Tumlin had a hit.

Brock Tumlin got the start on the pitcher’s mound, and he was untouchable.

Tumlin pitched four innings and didn’t give up any hits while striking out eight batters, and Braden Firth threw the final three innings and gave up two hits and two runs with seven strikeouts.
