Mrs. Evelyn Attyah Mansour, 90, of LaGrange passed on to be with our Lord on Friday, April 16, 2021. Mrs. Mansour was born December 8, 1930, in Americus, GA, daughter of the late Elias Attyah and Mamie Salloum Attyah.

She attended Georgia Southwestern College, was a member of the Amor Sapientia Verta Sorority, and was selected Miss Georgia Southwestern College. She married Nasor John Mansour, Jr., a native of LaGrange in 1954. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and served as a member of the council of Catholic Women and as a former parish council chairman. Mrs. Mansour served on the Architectural and Construction Expansion Committee which was responsible for the present St. Peter’s Catholic Church location on LaFayette Parkway. She served on the American Cancer Society Board from 1960-1973. Mrs. Mansour was recognized by St. Peter’s Catholic Church as “Woman of the Year” in 1999 and received the “Faithful Servant” Award in 2005. She had a wonderful way of impacting everyone’s life she touched and loved the Church with all her heart.

Above all, her family was the joy of her life. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as her extended family of nieces and nephews. Survivors include daughter, Carol Mansour-Ezzell and her husband, Pat, of Charlotte, North Carolina; son, Nasor Mansour, III and his wife, Emily, of LaGrange, and their children, Nasor John (John) Mansour IV and his wife Katie of Atlanta, Georgia, Will Mansour and his wife Amanda of Tampa, Florida, and Joseph Mansour, of Jacksonville, Florida; Mark Mansour and his wife, Gina, and their son, Eli Mansour, all of Atlanta, Georgia; and son, Luke Mansour and his wife, Connie, of Columbus, Georgia, and their sons, Luke Mansour, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia, Jackson Mansour, of Savannah, Georgia and Hal Mansour, of Columbus, Geogia; and great-grandchildren: Nasor John (Jay) Mansour V, Eva Mansour, and William Mansour.

In light of the Pandemic, a private Funeral Mass will be held for the immediate family at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2021, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with a Rosary preceding. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family would like to express its appreciation to her wonderful caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in honor of Evelyn Mansour.
