The LaGrange Grangers are hoping to go somewhere they’ve never been.

LaGrange’s boys’ soccer program has enjoyed plenty of success over the years, but it has never made it past the third round of the state tournament.

LaGrange will have a chance to remedy that next week.

LaGrange, which beat Bainbridge 5-0 in a second-round game on Thursday, will be at East Hall High on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a third-round test.

If LaGrange beats East Hall, it will advance to the state semifinals for the first time, and it will play Flowery Branch or Islands.

LaGrange, the champion of Region 2-AAAA, had a first-round bye in the playoffs before beating Bainbridge.

East Hall, the top seed from Region 8-AAAA, has beaten Hampton 10-0 and Druid Hills 2-1 to get to this point.

On the other side of the bracket, it’ll be Southeast Whitfield playing Benedictine, and Columbus taking on Marist.
