Kenneth Lamar Gates, a LaGrange native, passed away Thursday in Belleview, Florida.

He was born March 26, 1970, to the late Willie Eva Gates Sellars and Samuel Towns.

He graduated from Troup High School, and thereafter attended Georgia Fire Academy.  His previous employment included road construction, food handler, and grocery store attendant.

In July of 2020, Kenny moved to Florida; he then united with Faith, Hope, and Charity Church of the Living God in Summerfield.  Survivors include his son, Zachary Tiggs of Ohio; six sisters:  Wanda Ann Foley, Cynthia Kaye Gates, Cathrine (Lloyd) Thomas, all of Ypsilanti, MI; Brenda (Arthur) Stacey, Elaine Gates, Mary (Curtis) Brooks, all of LaGrange; three brothers:  Charles Gates, Summerfield, Florida.; James (Delenia) Gates, Lawtey, Florida; Larry Gates, Madison, Florida.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson on Friday from 6 p.m. to  7 p.m. The service will be Saturday at  1 p.m. at Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. The excellent care of Mr. Gates is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
