Justin Daniel recalls that there was not much to do in LaGrange as he was growing up, but now the “axecutioner” is changing that one ax throw at a time.

Timberwolf Axe Throwing opened May 14 at 1300 Lafayette Parkway and held its official ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday.

“Bringing [Timberwolf Axe Throwing] to LaGrange just made sense for us,” Daniel said. “We wanted to offer something that would be fun, especially coming out of the pandemic …it’s a family business, and we offer to young kids as well.”

Timberwolf houses several one-person throwing lanes as well as two competition lanes. Waivers have to be signed before handling the axes.

During each visitor’s one-hour time slots, customers must attempt to hit the red wooden bullseye with their supplied axes. Axe throwers get more points if they manage to hit the blue spots at the top of the thick boards.

Timberwolf offers the following rates: walk-in throwing for $25, pre-registered lane booking $30, Group Rate with a walk-in of 15 or more people for $20 per person.

Timberwolf is opened Monday to Wednesday for private events only and Thursday to Sunday to the general public by appointment only.

Walk-ins are accepted, but booking ahead will preserve a lane in advance, Daniel said.

Timberwolf is open Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Timberwolf offers special discounts for first responders and military, as well as for groups and students with IDs.
