Mrs. Irene Nelson McFarland passed away Wednesday.

She was born December 31, 1929 in LaGrange, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Junior Nelson and Carrie Beasley Nelson.

She was a member of Rising Grove Baptist Church,  and educated in Troup County.

Irene was educated by the Troup County School System.

Survivors include her daughter, Eugenia McFarland, LaGrange, GA; seven sons:  John McFarland, SC; Willie McFarland, Eugene (Kenya) McFarland, all of Roanoke, AL; Thomas (Retha) McFarland, Dexter (Martense) McFarland, Clifford (SaBrena) Turner, Carnell (Sonja) Turner; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Carter, all of LaGrange, GA; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of family, friends, and neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Friday from  6-7 p.m. at Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. The Service will be Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Southview Cemetery.
