LPD investigating assault on E Wynnwood Drive

The LaGrange Police Department is investigating an assault that took place on Monday.
According to a LPD press release, at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday officers responded to 122 E Wynnwood Drive in LaGrange in regard to an assault. Officers spoke to the victim, who said that around 2 a.m. Monday her boyfriend, identified as Videz Hargett, kicked her front door in and allegedly assaulted the victim with a steak knife.
The victim told police that Hargett forced her to enter his vehicle, and he drove her to an unknown location inside the city limits of LaGrange and continued assaulting her. Copeland said he later returned her to her residence and forced her inside. Copeland said a neighbor observed Hargett and called the police, but Hargett took flight prior to police arrival.
Officers noted that the victim’s front door had damage consistent with being kicked in, and the victim suffered a cut under her left eye and bruises on her face and body, according to the press release.
