The Callaway Cavaliers will be at the University of Georgia on Tuesday for a seven-on-seven tournament.

The seven-on-seven event in Athens has been a regular summer stop for Callaway over the years, although the tournament was canceled last year because of COVID-19.

Callaway participated in the Georgia tournament in 2019, and among the teams it competed against was Colquitt County, Norcross, Alpharetta and North Forsyth.

Tuesday’s tournament will give Callaway’s quarterbacks an opportunity to get a lot of work in as a new season approaches in August.

Demetrius Coleman was Callaway’s starting quarterback the past three seasons, and he will be playing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga this fall.

One of the players being looked at to replace Coleman is his younger brother, sophomore Deshun Coleman, who performed well during the spring game against Harris County. Coleman threw touchdown passes to Carlos Billinsglea and Treyonn Tucker, who will both be a part of a new-look wide-receiver corps.

Callaway, which won the Class AA state championship last season, will open its season on Aug. 20 at Opelika.
