The Troup Tigers managed to play every game they had scheduled in 2020, even if there was a fair amount of scrambling at the close of the season.

Because a game against Carver had to be re-scheduled, Troup ended up playing three games in eight days to finish the regular season before traveling to Savannah to play Benedictine in a playoff game.

With things mostly back to normal, the Tigers are anticipating playing every game as scheduled this year.

Troup will get things started with a preseason game at Heard County on Aug. 13, and it closes the regular season against Jordan on Nov. 5.

The Tigers are hoping to get off to a better start than they did a year ago when they lost their first three games of the regular season.

Troup responded with a six-game winning streak before losing a 32-29 heart-breaker to Carver in the regular-season finale, and its season ended with a 42-35 loss to Benedictine in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

Troup has non-region games against Harris County and Callaway, and it will play eight Region 2-AAAA games.

If Troup finishes fourth or higher in the region, it will qualify for the state playoffs.
