A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle accident on the 1700 block of Mooty Bridge Road on Wednesday night.

John David Stroud Jr., 17, was killed when his 2010 Nissan Titan truck left the roadway and hit a fixed object, according to LPD. The truck, a 2020 Nissan truck, had been traveling southbound. The driver was pronounced deceased by the Troup County Coroner on scene.

The LPD’s traffic unit was notified and is conducting an investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the LPD.
