Writers Round is a new addition to Pure Life Studios and will feature up-and-coming artists and their original works. On Friday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m., Pure Life will feature local artists Corbin Hoats, Aaron Gibson, and Anji Kiazen, according to a press release from the venue.

Writers Round is a stripped down look at musicians who write, compose and perform their own musical material, including lyrics and melodies. Hoats, Gibson, and Kiazen have been heard around town doing covers, but where they really become awe-inspiring is when they perform their original music, which is not always, or at least not often heard, when they perform locally.

“I am really excited to be able to open my doors and feature local artists,” said Maggie McDonald, owner/operator of Pure Life Studios. “We hung on through the pandemic and even now — the whole time I wanted to think of ways to support local and regional writers in getting their original music out. It is really hard to perform originals in a restaurant or bar/drinking setting because people don’t listen — unless it is a song they all know and want to sing along. Pure Life gives them the listening ears to help expand their careers as singer-songwriters because soon folks start singing their songs; to do that the musicians need a listening room-exactly what Pure Life provides.

According to the press release, Hoats is an Atlanta-based musician with a passion for utilizing the acoustic, singer/ songwriter setting to the fullest extent.

Drawing from a vast pool of influences ranging from James Taylor to Kings of Leon, Corbin seeks to emulate the magic of the songs and songwriters that have inspired his love of music from an early age.

The rest of 2021 will see Anji Kaizen releasing a string of new singles and features this summer, from collaborations with DJs all over the world.

Gibson developed his love for music when he attempted his first open mic at his father’s suggestion and was a contestant on season 11 of “The Voice.”

Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m.

The concert is $15 plus fees if purchased ahead of time at www.purelifelagrange.com or cost $20 cash at the door. Pure Life Studios is brown bag approved, and coolers are welcome.
