A 69-year-old critical missing adult was found after wandering away from a nursing facility on Wednesday morning, according to a LaGrange Police Department Press release.

The man, who suffered from dementia, had left LaGrange Nursing and Rehab, located at 2111 West Point Road in LaGrange.

The LPD, LaGrange Fire Department, American Medical Response and the Troup County Sheriff’s Office assisted with a search of the area. According to the press release, clothing belonging to the victim was located in the area of West Point Road near the entrance to the facility.

The man was located approximately half a mile from the facility after being tracked down by a LPD K9 that followed the victim’s ground disturbance.

The man was treated on scene by AMR personnel and returned to the facility, according to the press release.
