Harold “Frank” Kardoes, 80, of LaGrange, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

Frank was born August 24, 1940, in Bancroft, Iowa to the late Anton and Dollie Kardoes. He grew up in Swea City, Iowa.

Frank was preceded in death by his son, Randy Kardoes of Auburn, Alabama.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Beverly Kardoes; daughter, Kathy (Chuck) Newman; grandchildren, Taylor Marie (Brint) Hardy of Homewood Alabama, Peyton (Kaleb) Sosebee Piper Kardoes of Orlando, Florida, Bailey Kardoes, Kayla Newman, Chris Newman, Brent Kardoes, Brooke Kardoes and Natalie Kardoes; great-grandchildren, Mattison Murphy, Will Hardy and Ben Hardy of Homewood, Alabama.

Frank was blessed to be from a large family, with brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews scattered all over the country. He lived most of his adult life in Georgia, but still considered Iowa to be home. Summers usually meant a trip to Titonka and an extended visit with his brothers, sisters, and family.

Frank was an ambitious, hard-working man. He spent his early professional life working for Oliver Rubber Company in Athens, Georgia, and Kleentex in Lagrange, but he also founded and operated Kardoes Rubber Company in Lafayette, Alabama. He retired in 2014.

He enjoyed working in his yard and never forgot that he grew up on a farm. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was known for being a generous man, and was always willing to help someone in need. He especially had a soft spot in his heart for helping people who were willing to work hard to help themselves.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church on The Square. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. A private family committal will be held after the service at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church on the Square or The American Heart Association.
