The remaining days of summer — at least if you have children in school — are dwindling quickly. Less than a month is left to take a last minute trip to the beach or to get out of town for a few extra days.

While not everyone’s calendars revolve around the school calendar, many reading this can relate to having to adjust their life around when kids are in and out of school. Life has been so complicated for the last year, thanks to COVID-19, and we all were dying for some time away, and most of us got it this summer.

Life has also never been more dependent on technology. We’re all constantly plugged in, on our smartphones and communicating with someone about work, life or something random. If you can — especially if you’re a parent, student or educator — we encourage you to take a day or two and unplug over the next month. Enjoy time with family before life gets super hectic again.  There’s something relaxing about summer, whether it’s the long days or just the fact that parents don’t have to fight their kids to be up at the break of dawn every day.

But whatever it is, it’s a time of year we all look forward to. Summer doesn’t end when school starts, but it sure feels like it.  Enjoy the rays while you can.
