The Troup County School System will be selling real estate and equipment that is no longer in use, including the school itself,  at the former Mountville Elementary School this Saturday.

Large and small items such as school buses, transportation vehicles, kitchen equipment, desks, chairs, furniture, woodworking equipment, welding shop equipment, gym equipment, and much more will be for sale, according to a press release from the TCSS.

The sale will take place via a live sit-down auction that will be telecast from the cafeteria of the school starting at 10 a.m.

Open house for real estate and personal property viewing takes place on July 14, 15, and 16 beginning at 10 a.m.

The school, which was built in 1956, sits on 14.24 acres and has over 51,000 total square feet. The school closed in 2015 and has since been used as a storage facility for TCSS.

The sale will begin with real estate and then follow the catalog order. There will be 345 individual lots including the stainless steel kitchen equipment that was in use when the school was operational, as well as coolers and dishwashing equipment, the release states.
