A celebration of life service for Jeffrey “Crash” Gilchrist will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 3 p.m. EST at Pineview Baptist Church in LaGrange with Reverend Joel Scott and Reverend Jason May officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2 p.m. EST.

Jeff was born on April 14, 1965, in Opelika, Alabama and went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2021. Jeff worked at Vaughan Xpress for many years as a truck driver. He was a resident of LaGrange where he attended Pineview Baptist Church. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves but loved his Auburn football.  Jeff will be remembered for his great sense of humor and loyal friendship to many.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, James and Glenice Gilchrist of Opelika, Alabama; grandparents Wilson and Millie Bailey of Opelika, Alabama, Alvin and Estelle Gilchrist of Opp, Alabama; his brother Jim Gilchrist of Opelika, Alabama and his Aunt Dene Bailey of Opelika, Alabama.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Gilchrist of LaGrange; their unborn baby Lukas Gilchrist of LaGrange; his sister Pam (Gary) Kenney of Opelika, Alabama; nephews Jacob (Rachel) Kenney of Opelika, Alabama, Jonathan (Lydia) Kenney of Juliette, Georgia, Jase May of LaGrange and nieces Anna Kenney of Birmingham, Alabama and Kynlee May of LaGrange.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to Pineview Baptist Church or donations to Lisa to go into a savings account for Baby Lukas.
