Brenda Jo Townsend was born in Gray Hill Community of Troup County to Willard and Adelle Taylor.  She was a devoted daughter, loving sister, wife and mother.  She passed away at the age of 72 in Columbus, Georgia.

Brenda’s hobbies were fishing and camping.  She also loved singing for her lord and savior Jesus Christ with her husband Danny at various venues.  She attended Baptist Tabernacle in LaGrange for many years and later Kirkland Memorial Baptist in Columbus.  Brenda worked 9 ½ years at the Corps of Engineers, LaGrange, that built the West Point Dam.  The Dam was her place of refuge.

She is survived by her husband Danny Townsend Sr; sons Willie Almand, Danny (Alison) Towsend II, Scott (Karen) Townsend, and Todd (Dusty) Townsend; daughters Shelly (Andy) Cantrell and Dannette (CB) Burchfield; sister Carol (Stan) Talley and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son Gary Almand, grandson Drew Cantrell and sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Terrell Allen.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Baptist Tabernacle, LaGrange on Friday, August 6, 2021, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and a service to immediately follow.
