Hershel M. Stevens, 81, of Five Points, Alabama passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Stevens was born May 18, 1940, in Randolph County, Alabama as the son of the late Marvin Clarence Stevens and Cloie B. Meadows Stevens. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Durand-Wayland as a machinist. Mr. Stevens enjoyed working on cars and restoring old Thunderbirds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy M. Stevens; a brother, Horace Stevens; and a sister, Harvoline Neese.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy (Charles) Breeden; grandchildren, Joshua Crews, TSgt. Jonathan (Emili) Brooks, and Megan Brooks; siblings, Ann (Larry) Mobley, Hazel Brooks, Helen Brooks, and Harold Stevens; close cousin and friend, Carter Meadows; several other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will happen in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
