Charles E. Wyman (ret. USAF), 90, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Wyman was born May 26, 1931, in Crawford County, Indiana, son of the late John and Lorraine Crandall Wyman.

A veteran of service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he retired as a Technical Sergeant from the U. S. Air Force following 23 years of service. He served on several continents and in many countries during his military career. Following his retirement, he lived in Japan for 15 years, where he taught English to high school and college students. He maintained journals during the past few years, writing in them every day and naming them “Wyman’s Remarks, Comments, and Opinions Galore.”

Survivors include his daughter, Rumi Smith Massey of LaGrange; grandchildren and their spouses, Leah and Robert Smith of Maryland, Christi Smith of Hogansville, Charles and Casey Smith of LaGrange, Yuri and Jeremy Crockett of Franklin; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Karvelas and his wife Alexis, Ciera Landreth and her husband Connor, Alec Karvelas and his soon-to-be wife Abbie, Shaylee Smith, Mary Smith, Trevor Garcia, Kalee Crockett, Aubrey Crockett, Preston Lee Crockett, Zayne Smith, Christian Smith, Arabella Herald; great-great-grandson, Nick Karvelas IV; brothers, Gerald Wyman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jack Wyman of Marengo, Indiana; and sister, Shirley Boldt of Indianapolis.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Hifumi Matsuo Wyman.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m., Sunday, August 8 in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Dennis Rollins officiating.

Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7 at the home of Charles and Casey Smith, 171 John Lovelace Road, in LaGrange, and will also receive friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 8.
