In the next few weeks, we plan to ramp up our election coverage. Believe it or not, it’s not very long (less than two months) before we all head to the polls to elect important positions across Troup County.

Hogansville has a hotly contested mayoral race. The Troup County Commission has a five-person field in an effort to fill the seat left by the late Richard English.

There are also contested races in LaGrange and West Point.

We encourage you to start your research now.

Undoubtedly, these candidates will all be making the rounds over the next few weeks, trying to explain their platform.

And as they do, we urge you to listen. It’d be unfair to make up your mind without hearing each candidate’s take on issues in our community.

Your job as a voter is to have an open mind, listen, and then vote for the candidate you believe will do the most for our community.
